annual running costs

We are a registered charity and rely on the generosity of the local community and the efforts of the watchkeepers and their friends and families to generate the necessary funds to maintain the station.

Our management team and watchkeepers give their time on a voluntary basis and at no cost to the station. We do however incur costs such as utilities and replacing equipment. Our annual running costs are circa £10,000 with any new equipment being at an additional cost.
